About Josephine Community Library Foundation

 

We raise money for our libraries

Josephine Community Library Foundation is a nonprofit that raises and protects funds to support programs beyond the reach of the library’s regular tax-funded operating budget. The foundation focuses on funding projects that build community and provide open access to information, including updated facilities, technology, and materials.

How we started

Volunteers formed the nonprofit foundation in 1987 as a way for community members to donate for the direct benefit of local libraries. More than 30 years later, this important work continues as the foundation continues to support a library system that will thrive for generations to come.

How we evolved

In May 2017, voters approved the Josephine Community Library District. Now, in partnership with the library district, the foundation has taken on the responsibility of raising funds for special programs and building projects the library could not otherwise afford.

 
 

Our work includes:

  • Long-term planning for the future of library buildings and facilities.

  • Cultivating relationships with individuals, businesses, and granting organizations.

  • Facilitating legacy planning.

  • Providing financial support for specific library program and facility needs and goals.

  • Fundraising locally for the library with a focus on community engagement and enthusiasm.
