You can also set up an automatic monthly payment through your bank’s online bill pay service or your company’s payroll deductions.

Give stock and real estate

Gifts of stock or real estate often allow you to make a substantial contribution while receiving valuable income tax advantages. Generally, a donor may qualify for a charitable deduction based on the value of the gift, and the capital gain from the donated asset passes tax-free to JCLF.

Work with your attorney, financial advisor, insurance broker, or banker to plan a gift of stock, real estate, or required minimum distribution (RMD).

Give a gift from your company, private foundation, or donor-advised fund

Gifts from your employer’s corporate giving program or your philanthropic foundation or your donor-advised fund can support the library foundation’s work for the community or contribute to the capital campaign for the three library building projects.

Use the IRA charitable rollover to support your community

If you are subject to required minimum distributions, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of that requirement by making a direct transfer of up to $100,000 per year from your IRA, known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Simply provide the foundation’s tax identification number 94-3051415 to your IRA provider and ask them to make the distribution to Josephine Community Library Foundation. Learn more about QCDs and their tax benefits at https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/retirement-plans-faqs-regarding-iras-distributions-withdrawals

Leave a legacy for yourself or a loved one

Remembering the library foundation while estate planning can make a huge difference to the future. By leaving a one-time gift, setting up an endowment fund, or making the foundation a life insurance beneficiary, you can leave a legacy of open information access, education, and community that will last to serve future generations in Josephine County.

Work with your attorney, financial advisor, insurance broker, or banker to plan an estate, bequest, trust, insurance, required minimum distribution (RMD), or other major gift toward the library foundation’s endowment.

For more information, contact the library foundation investment team at Welch Investment Group at 541-474-6616 or contact the foundation.

Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities offer donors a permanent, meaningful way in which to be recognized or recognize others for leadership gifts to JCLF’s Campaign for Our Libraries. Naming Opportunities are available to individuals and families, businesses, foundations, and organizations. JCLF will collaborate with its architects to develop attractive and appealing ways to recognize donors within the new libraries in Grants Pass, Williams, and the renovated library in Illinois Valley.

Please contact Rebecca Stoltz, Executive Director, at rstoltz@josephinelibrary.org or 541-476-0571 ext. 200 for more information and current availability.

All naming opportunities are valid 20 years and are subject to the foundation and library district board approvals.
