About Josephine Community Library Foundation

Founded in 1987, Josephine Community Library Foundation is the fundraising arm of the library and raises funds to support special programs beyond the reach of the library’s regular tax-funded budget. Currently, the library foundation is engaged in a multi-year capital campaign to renovate or replace three of the four library buildings. Read more at Planning Better Buildings.

The library foundation focuses on funding those library projects which build community and provide open access to information by cultivating relationships with individuals, businesses, and granting organizations; facilitating legacy planning; managing financial assets on behalf of donors; and providing financial support for specific library programs and facility needs.

Josephine Community Library Foundation has been largely an all-volunteer organization, with contractors and advisors. Currently on contract are a bookkeeper, accountant, and investment advisor. Fourteen engaged volunteers serve on the board of directors. The foundation enjoys a close relationship with the Josephine Community Library District, which runs the four-branch library system.
