Josephine Community Library District

Josephine Community Library District is the tax-funded system that runs the libraries in Josephine County. The library district includes branches in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, Williams, and Wolf Creek.

With the library foundation as a funding partner to the library district, the two work closely together to make sure our community enjoys the library services, materials, facilities, and programs it wants and needs.

Who’s Using the Libraries?

With more foot traffic than our local post office, more than 22,000 items are checked out from the libraries in Josephine County each month. On any given day, about 10,000 library books are out in the community.

Patrons also check out items from the “Library of Things,” films on DVD, and audiobook CDs. They download from more than 45,000 popular eBooks. They search for information from dozens of reliable online resources.

At least a third of our residents don’t have their own computer or Internet access. In a year, more than 15,000 computer sessions are logged by library patrons, and about 42,750 patron devices connect to the library’s wireless network.

With a full spectrum of programs and services, our libraries have something for everyone. The library is a safe place where parents can come with their children, where job seekers can build their resumes and review openings, where retired people can socialize, and where groups can learn and create in spaces where everyone is welcome.

Patrons of all ages visit our libraries.
